At last! The last of the Hand-Out Collaborative Make My Movie entries.
PIGEON HUNThttp://www.makemymovie.co.nz/entry/pigeon-hunt/
This is probably my favourite of what we've got. The story behind Pigeon Hunt comes from my experience part time in retail (gotta pay the bills somehow). I was working a night fill on Cuba Street last year, and we heard gunshots in the parking lot. We asked a manager what it was, and were told not to worry about it. Later when I was heading home, I walked through the parking lot to find the ground covered in BLOOD AND FEATHERS.
So yes, the Pigeon Hunters do exist. I asked a friend about it, and he told me that at Wellington Railway Station, they go in the dead of the night for the few hours the station is closed. Only, there's a lot of baby pigeons there, and it's not worth shooting them. So they just bludgeon them with baseball bats, and carry the corpses off in a black rubbish bag......... Woah.
Stoked to have Andrew Todd (GHOST SHARK 2: URBAN JAWS) as a potential co-director with me if this thing gets made. And cheers to Andrew for shopping the poster, and to Kim Thomas for brandish weapons in the dark of Newtown with me for the photo.
In other news, I heard the other day I've been selected to participate in the EAT (Emerging Artists Trust) Writer's Workshop starting up in Wellington. There are sessions for six months, and is a chance to have my work critiqued by other writers, better yet, workshopped by ten actors who will be there every session. Should be really useful and will help get a feature draft done over summer if I'm erm, diligent. The question is, which new idea should I use?
